Mass arrests, searches, detentions, and false propaganda campaigns have now become part of the lives of Crimean civic activists who dare to fight the occupying authorities.

The People's Deputy of Ukraine Rustem Umerov told about it in Ankara at the conference "Human Rights in the Occupied Crimea and Crimean Tatars", - was reported by QIRIM.News.

According to Umerov, Russia continues to do everything to suppress the non-violent resistance of Crimean Tatars in Crimea: intimidate, imprison, torture, and wage a hybrid mass information war against Ukraine.

"In October 2021 alone, three searches, 73 detentions and 16 arrests were recorded in the occupied Crimea. There were also 40 fines for activists and 47 violations of the right to a fair trial. According to each such figure and statistics, the history of man and family", - Umerov said.

The People's Deputy also said that both inside Ukraine and in the international arena, people are tired of war, deaths and bad news. According to him, every fifth person in Ukraine is not interested in the topic of Crimea. And of those who care, only 15% are interested in human rights violations on the peninsula.

Rustem Umerov called for the consolidation of the information front for the fight against the occupiers, as well as the military.

"International events such as today are one of the tools. It is necessary to hold joint round tables, conferences, teleconferences. That Russia's crimes and constant repressions remain on the information agenda. I know for sure that Crimean Tatars will not leave their homeland - Crimea, and will not reconcile with the temporary occupation of Crimea. Therefore, it is necessary to continue the non-violent struggle on the diplomatic and information fronts every day", - the Deputy concluded.

Speaking at a conference on "Human Rights in the Occupied Crimea and Crimean Tatars", - Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said Erdogan's proposed mediation initiative was aimed at resolving the conflict with Russia peacefully.
