On February 22, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a request to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to break off diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. He will consider this issue.

It was announced by the President of Ukraine at a press conference with his Estonian counterpart Alan Karis in Kyiv on February 22, European Truth reports.

According to Zelensky, the recognition of the independence of the L / DPR by Vladimir Putin is legal aggression against Ukraine and a step of escalation.

"I received a request from the Foreign Ministry to consider the issue of severing diplomatic ties between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Immediately after our press conference, I will work on this issue. And not only this issue, but other effective steps towards escalation by the Russian Federation. We believe it was a step of escalation, legal aggression, which provides grounds for military aggression by Russia, by militants surrounding the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories", - he said.
