Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said international peace could not be taken for granted and threatened the Kremlin that "Russia would get even more NATO on its borders" due to the threat of new aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Guardian.

"If the Kremlin's goal is to reduce NATO's presence on its borders, it will get even more NATO. If the Kremlin wants to divide the Alliance, we will become even more united", - Stoltenberg said.

The NATO Secretary General stressed that the Alliance does not threaten Russia, but will protect its allies.

"The current crisis concerns not only Ukraine, but also the way we want to organize relations between the states. Moscow is trying to turn history around and stop admitting new NATO members, which is an attempt by Russia to gain control over the Western security strategy", - Stoltenberg said.
