Deputies from the OPL Nestor Shufrych has a plot of land and real estate in the occupied Crimea, issued under Russian law.

This is stated in the investigation of the Scheme program.

According to journalists, shortly before the occupation of Crimea, Shufrych's family bought an unfinished villa of 4,500 square meters from his current colleague from the Viktor Medvedchuk faction. m in the village of Simeiz, next to the site of Medvedchuk himself. Schemes reported that there was a private privatized beach in the area, which contradicted Ukrainian law. The plot was leased to FC Dynamo-Kyiv, and then it became the property of the investment company Sport-Tour, which is now registered to Medvedchuk's wife Oksana Marchenko.

The Ukrainian real estate register states that the villa is owned by the Ukrainian company Auto Business Group, founded by Shufrych's father and his assistant. At the same time, according to the investigation, in the Russian register the villa and several plots of land under it since 2019 are listed as the property of the Russian company Estate Holding Group, which is also owned by the father and assistant of the People's Deputy.

Journalists said that real estate in the occupied Crimea was issued to a Russian company through the scheme. Already after the occupation of the peninsula, the Shufrych family bought two more plots around the unfinished villa under Russian law, which, according to the Ukrainian cadastre, are still registered with the previous owner. According to the investigation, this means that the agreement was not concluded under Ukrainian law.

In a comment to Schemes, Shufrych confirmed that he owns real estate in the occupied Crimea. According to him, registration of property on the peninsula according to Russian norms is "permitted by Ukrainian law." The People's Deputy told reporters that "two special laws" were passed in 2019, but experts and representatives of relevant government bodies denied this.

  • Nestor Shufrych is a People's Deputy from the Opposition Platform - For Life (OPL) party. He first entered the Verkhovna Rada in 1998 at the age of 31. Since then, he has not become a People's Deputy only during the short term of the fifth convocation in 2006-2007. He was twice the Minister of Emergency Situations, under Yanukovych as Prime Minister in 2006-2007 and Yanukovych as President in 2010-2012.
