The Plenipotentiary of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova commented on the search of the Kurultay delegate of the Crimean Tatar people Edem Dudakov.

"I emphasize that searches of Ukrainian citizens' homes in the temporarily occupied Crimea are contrary to international norms and are a direct violation of Article 5 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which guarantees everyone the right to privacy, and Article 8 of the Convention life", - was informed in the message.

Denisova also called on the international community to respond to the actions of Russian security forces in the annexed Crimea and increase pressure on Russia to stop further human rights violations on the peninsula.

"He is accused of inciting ethnic hatred, allegedly. This is provided by the Code of Administrative Offenses in Article 20.3.1. He allegedly made a post or comment in 2017 that allegedly incited ethnic hatred. And this comment is still there, so they believe that this is an ongoing offense", - the lawyer of" Crimean Solidarity" Edem Semedlyaev informed.
