Yesipenko denies guilt and claims that FSS operatives threw a grenade at him during the search. And after the detention they tortured, seeking evidence.

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova reacted to the political prisoner's sentence.

I condemn the decision of the so-called Simferopol District Court, as all allegations against a Ukrainian citizen are far-fetched and politically motivated, and the criminal case is fabricated. Vladislav Yesypenko's sentence is an example of intimidation of independent journalists, policy of persecution and repression of Ukrainian citizens by the occupying country", - Denisova stressed.
