The G7 countries have declared their readiness to impose sanctions on Russia
G7 finance ministers warn the Russian Federation of the economic consequences if it decides to invade Ukraine.
This is stated in a joint statement of the G7 countries, which appeared on February 14.
"We, the G7 finance ministers, emphasize our readiness to act swiftly and decisively to support the Ukrainian economy, as well as to support the ongoing efforts to urgently identify a diplomatic path to de-escalation", - was informed in the statement.
It is noted that the priority of the G7 countries is to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine. The document states that the states are ready to collectively impose economic and financial sanctions that will have far-reaching consequences for the Russian economy if the Kremlin intensifies hostilities against Ukraine: "Any further military aggression by Russia against Ukraine will meet quickly, coordinated and forceful".
According to the G7 finance ministers, they are monitoring the situation and will be ready to act in a coordinated manner to provide economic and financial support to Ukraine as soon as possible.
