In occupied Crimea, "security forces'' conducted several illegal searches in the households of Crimean Tatar activists. After the searches, Ansar Osmanov, Ametkhan Abdulvapov, Marlen Mustafayev, and Ernest Seitosmanov were illegally detained and taken to the FSB occupation department. Human rights activists note that during the searches, it was not possible to get through to lawyers, as their mobile phones were not available.

Crimean Solidarity reported about it on Facebook.

Early in the morning of February 9, at around 4:00 a.m., in the Bakhchisaray district, in Balaklava, Simferopol, and Belogorsk, the occupiers conducted searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars who took part in the activities of Crimean political prisoners.

At about 7:00 a.m., the investigation stopped, and they took the Crimean Tatars to the FSB department.

Osmanov Ansar was searched in the village of Tankove (the Bakhchisaray district). The man participated in public initiatives and information campaigns in support of Crimean political prisoners, he attended trials on politically motivated cases in Crimea and Rostov-on-Don.

In October 2019, Ansar Osmanov was detained together with Amet Suleimanov (the “third Bakhchisaray group”) and activist Ali Kerimov on the highway near the Kerch Bridge, on the way to Rostov-on-Don, where they participated as listeners in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case (the Yalta Group).

The occupiers also detained Abdulvapov Ametkhan. Address: Simferopol, Bile-5, st. Kurkchi 20.

In Belogorsk, FSB searched Marlen Mustafayev. The man actively attended courts and helped the families of political prisoners. He is a volunteer at Crimean Solidarity. In December 2017, Marlen Mustafayev was sentenced to an administrative fine of 10,000 rubles for a single picket on October 14, 2017.

In Sevastopol, in the village of Tylove (Balaklava), Ernest Seitosmanov, the brother of political prisoner Enver Seitosmanov, was illegally sentenced by the occupiers to 17 years in prison for involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir political party, was searched. This is the fourth illegal search of Ernest Seitosmanov’s house.

The man attended trials of Crimean Tatars in Crimea and Rostov-on-Don, assisted the families of political prisoners in resolving social issues, and participated in civic initiatives.

On November 23, 2021, after a meeting with lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, police officers drew up an “administrative protocol” against Ernest Seitosmanov. The activist spent 13 days in the temporary detention facility in Simferopol.

Crimean Solidarity noted that at the time of the illegal “searches” many lawyers and human rights activists did not have mobile access, and no one could call them. The telephone numbers of the coordinator of the public association Dilaver Memetov and citizen journalist Zidane Adzhikelyamov were unavailable.

A court session was scheduled to choose a measure of restraint for two detainees in the Leninsky City Court of the city of Sevastopol. Ernest Seitosmanov's court session took place at 3:00 p.m., and Osmanov Ansar's at 4:00 p.m.

The meeting which decided a measure of restraint for Marlen Mustafaev and Ametkhan Abdulvapov was held in the "Kyivsky district court" of the city of Simferopol.

Compatriots and relatives of the detainees gathered on the street next to the "court".

Lawyers Marlen Khalikov and Refat Yunus will work on the case.

In the "Kyivsky district court", Marlen Mustafayev was accused of Art. 205.5.1 of the Criminal Code (Organization of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization). The "court" decided to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention until April 7, 2022.

"We asked for a measure of restraint that is not related to detention, but the court did not take this into account. We will file an appeal", - lawyer Marlen Khalikov said.

On the territory of the "Leninsky City Court," the occupying police officers recorded the passport data of the listeners who were waiting for the start of the court session.
