Russian military exercises using unmanned aerial vehicles took place in the occupied Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"During the training, the calculations of combat vehicles of volley fire systems, howitzer artillery and mortar units worked out preparations for firing and changing fire positions in the conditions of use by conventional enemy aircraft and sabotage and reconnaissance groups," the statement said.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the adjustment of fire and detection of targets were carried out by drone operators from surveillance and reconnaissance posts.

Also, Russian artillerymen "performed the task of defending the coast with the execution of combat fire on target positions".

It is noted that about 20 artillery calculations of the Southern Military District of Russia and unmanned aerial vehicles of the Russian Black Sea Fleet took part in the exercise.
