The occupation court in Crimea has sentenced the alleged "agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine" Konstantin Shiring. The man was sentenced to 12 years in a maximum security prison, and the appeal of the defense was rejected

This was announced on Friday at the Public Relations Center of the FSS of Russia, was reported by TASS.

It is noted that the sentence of the occupying Supreme Court of Crimea, which sentenced 12 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony "agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine", a citizen of Ukraine Shiring Konstantin Semenovich, born in 1960, came into force.

"The Third Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction refused to satisfy the appeal filed by the defense", - the occupiers said.

What is known

  • FSS officers detained Shiring in the occupied Crimea in March 2020, allegedly "for espionage in the interests of Ukrainian military intelligence." According to the Russian agency, criminal cases "for treason and espionage" were initiated.
  • On October 14, 2021, the Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced Konstantin Shiring to 12 years in a maximum security prison. In the debate, the prosecutor asked for 14 years in prison and the defense to acquit Konstantin Shiring. Shearing himself also asked to acquit him, saying that he had been "slandered and blamed".
