Today, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don continues to hear the case of the "fourth Bakhchisaray group" Hizb ut-Tahrir - a Russian Muslim with disabilities Alexander Sizikov and Crimean Tatar activists Seyran Hayredinov and Alim Sufyanov.

It is noted that the public prosecutor has completed the announcement of the indictment, which began at the previous hearing, told "Crimean Solidarity" Alexander Sizikov's lawyer Safia Shabanova. After that, all three defendants pleaded not guilty.

"They all said they did not admit guilt and plan to testify," the lawyer said. "The procedure for examining the evidence has also been determined today - the prosecution will be the first to present evidence. Prosecution witnesses are to be questioned at the next hearing.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 22.

What is known

  • At the last hearing, the court also extended the three-month remand in custody for three months - Alexander Sizikov will remain under house arrest, and Alim Sufyanov and Seyran Khairedinov - in pre-trial detention until April 20, 2022.
  • On July 7, 2020, seven people were detained during mass searches in Crimea. The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol has chosen a measure of restraint for six detainees in the form of detention.
  • Ismet Ibragimov, Zekirya Muratov, Vadim Bektemirov, Emil Ziyadinov, Alim Sufyanov, Seyran Khairedinov were arrested in the courtroom and placed in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center. Oleksandr Sizikov, who has a visual impairment of the 1st group, was sent under house arrest.
