Consul General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don Taras Malyshevsky and Consul Serhiy Yurchenko met with political prisoners in the "Third Bakhchisaray Group" and "Second Bakhchisaray Group" in Novocherkassk SIZO-3.

This was reported by "Crimean Solidarity".

It is noted that the convicts told the diplomats about the conditions of detention and received financial assistance.

After the visit, Serhiy Yurchenko said that Rustem Seitmemetov and Osman Seitumerov needed to be examined by a specialist due to impaired vision. Men attribute this to the large number of documents they had to read in the dark. Osman Seitumerov also suffers from back pain, almost all prisoners complained about the condition of his teeth. The Consulate General intends to apply to the State Administration of the FSVP in the Rostov region with a request to conduct the necessary inspection.

In addition, the convicts told the consuls in detail about the conditions of detention. They mainly complain of dampness, water shortages and regular feeding of pork in the diet. There are no refrigerators in the transfer chamber. Only Osman Seitumerov has TV. There is a shop in the pre-trial detention center, but the range there, the prisoners say, is meager. The consuls assured that all political prisoners would receive financial assistance in February.

Consul General Taras Malyshevsky discussed relations with Server Mustafayev, Seyran Saliyev and Server Zekiryaev with the administration of the institution. Server Mustafayev mentioned problems: poor food, chaotic operation of the store, lack of regular walks, delays in complaints to supervisors, difficulties in providing proper medical care.

Taras Malyshevsky promised to hold talks with the head of the institution, and also agreed with lawyers from local Rostov-based human rights organizations specializing in detention facilities to visit them next week.
