The occupiers in Sevastopol announced the holding of public discussions of the updated “planning project and project of the boundaries of the territory within the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline from GDS-1 through Balaklava, Fiolent to Kazachya Bay". To build a new gas pipeline, 27 land plots of Sevastopol residents will have to be seized.

The occupying government of the city reported it.

According to published data, the discussion of changes to the documentation on the planning of the linear object will take place in electronic format from January 28 to February 28. Citizens will be able to get acquainted with the documentation only in the period from February 4 to 18, when the project will be published on the website of the “Department of Architecture and Urban Planning” of the city.

The total length of the gas pipeline will be 34.3 km, which will require 27 land plots with an area of 1823 square meters.

“The purpose of the project of territorial planning is to provide gas supply to existing and promising areas of the city”, - the statement said.

What is known

  • The occupiers have been planning the construction of a gas pipeline connecting Balaklava and Kozacha Bay since 2015. In 2017, 605 million rubles were allocated from the occupiers for the construction of the facility within the framework of the federal target program of socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol by 2022.
  • In September 2018, it was reported that the pipeline would run through 22 private plots of land. The occupiers had to decide on the purchase of these plots or the imposition of restrictions on them as land easements.
  • Later, the occupying government of Sevastopol confiscated only one plot of land.
  • However, in the summer of 2019, the Federal Target Management Directorate announced the termination of the contract with the contractor, who at that time built 7 of the 34 km of gas pipeline.
