With the help of the Crimean Marathon, the wives of political prisoners Fatima Yanikova and Nailya Ibragimova paid fines of 10,000 rubles (UAH 3,640), which were imposed by the occupational Kievsky District Court on November 24, 2021, for “violating public order” under Article 20 of the Russian Federation.Fatima Yanikova and Nailya Ibragimova are the spouses of political prisoners Farkhod Bazarov and Yashar Muedinov.

Crimean Solidarity reported it.

"I see the unity of the whole nation. Such actions and deeds show that we are not indifferent to the problems of other people", - Yanikova said.

Nailya Ibragimova stated that they do not agree with the decision of the "court" and consider it as pressure on the Crimean Tatar people. They will prove their innocence in the European Court of Human Rights.

According to the women, they met lawyer Edem Semedlyaev from the temporary detention centre. Fatima noted that those present were wearing masks and did not interfere with the passage of citizens in the square.

Despite this, they were detained by the occupation police, whose actions were directed by the officers of the “E” Centre.

"Law enforcers" believe that those gathered at the detention centre blocked the movement of pedestrians and thereby violated public order.

What is known

  • The Crimean Marathon is a public initiative that began in Crimea in the summer of 2017 when the occupying security forces applied a new type of pressure on activists: against citizens who gather near houses to support their compatriots during searches, they began to initiate administrative proceedings for participating in an "unauthorised rally".
  • On the evening of November 23, the police detained 31 Crimean Tatars near a temporary detention centre in occupied Simferopol, where people went to meet lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, who was arrested on November 12 for 12 days.He was fined 4,000 rubles by the occupying Central District Court of Simferopol for refusing to stop open audio recording.
  • On October 25, the lawyer was present at the appeal in the case of the Krasnogvardeysky group. Later, after the mass detentions of Crimean Tatars near the building of the occupying Crimean garrison military court, he tried to protect them in the "Central Police Department" № 3.
  • The head of the Centre for Combating Extremism, Ruslan Shambazov, ordered the lawyer to undress completely to check his body for extremist tattoos, which Semedlyaev refused to do. For the refusal, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.
  • The second protocol under the same article was received due to the lawyer's refusal to stop audio recording on a dictaphone in the building of the occupying Ministry of Internal Affairs. Later in court, the defence insisted that according to Article 24.3 of the Administrative Code ("Open Consideration of Cases of Administrative Offences"), persons involved in administrative proceedings have the right to record the proceedings by audio recording.
