In the occupied Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, which includes occupied Crimea, a check of the readiness of units and military units has begun. More than 6,000 Russian servicemen were involved in the inspection.

It was announced by the head of the air defence press service Vadim Astafyev to RIA Novosti.

"Air defence units were raised on a training alert and then entered areas of concentration", - he said.

According to the inspection plan, several units and military units began to march in a combined way to the all-military training grounds, located at a considerable distance from the permanent deployment points, to carry out training and combat missions.

The air defence forces will have to work out a wide range of measures to organize comprehensive support and perform the tasks assigned to them as part of tactical groups during combat exercises.

The purpose of the inspection is to assess the ability of commanders of units and battalion tactical groups to organize interspecific interaction and management of assigned units of different military units.

"In a unified operational environment, the tasks of the unit and military units of the all-military units, the Air Force and Air Defence Army, naval groups of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla will be fulfilled", - Army Commander General Alexander Dvornikov said.
