The National Bank excludes ten insurance companies from the occupied territories of Ukraine from the register

The National Bank of Ukraine has excluded ten insurers located in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories from the State Register of Financial Institutions. Three out of ten insurers are from occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.

It was reported by the press service of the National Bank.

In particular, the following were excluded:

  • Insurance PJSC "Crimea-Afes" (Simferopol, Crimea);
  • PJSC "Crimean Insurance Alliance" (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea);
  • PJSC "IC Angarant" (Sevastopol).
  • PJSC "Ukrainian Insurance Company" (Donetsk);
  • PJSC IC "Eurosibinvest" (Donetsk);
  • PJSC "IC" Vega "(Donetsk);
  • PJSC "Garant Prestige" Insurance Company (Donetsk);
  • TDV "Spych" Insurance Company (Donetsk);
  • TDV "Spich i K" (Makeyevka, Donetsk region);
  • PJSC "Insurance Union" (Lugansk);

Relevant decisions were made by the Committee for Supervision and Regulation of Non-Banking Financial Services Markets at a meeting on January 21.

What is known

  • On December 19, 2021, the Law of Ukraine of November 18, 2021, № 1909-IX “On Insurance”, came into force.
  • According to the first paragraph of paragraph 21 of Section XV "Final and Transitional Provisions", from the date of entry into force of this law licenses for financial services issued to insurers, the location of which, as of the date of entry into force of this Law, is the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, or the territory of the Joint Forces operation, shall be revoked;
  • The National Bank of Ukraine shall exclude the insurers referred to in this paragraph and information on them from the State Register of Financial Institutions.
