EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that now he sees no reason to withdraw the families of the diplomats from Ukraine because of the threat of a military attack on the country, as the United States and Great Britain have already done. He has urged not to dramatize the situation while negotiations with Russia are ongoing.

He said this during his arrival at the EU Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels, DW reports.

"I don't think we need to dramatize. As long as negotiations are continuing -  I don't think we need to leave Ukraine. There is no decision now to evacuate the families of European diplomats from Ukraine. But Secretary of State Blinken has more information, and he will share it with us", - Borrell said.

The main topic of the meeting of foreign ministers will be security in Europe, given the situation on the border between Russia and Ukraine. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will join the conversation of EU foreign ministers via video link.

"U.S. Secretary Blinken will explain the reasons for this announcement. We are not going to do the same because we do not know any specific reasons", - the EU High Representative said.
