On January 20, 2022, the occupation city court of Sevastopol did not satisfy the appeals of the defense against the extension of custody of Crimean Tatar activists Rustem Murasov and Zavur Abdullayev.

This was reported by "Crimean Solidarity".

It is noted that the defendants and their lawyers Emil Kurbedinov and Oleksiy Ladin took part in a video conference from SIZO-1 of occupied Simferopol.

The defendants themselves plead not guilty to the charges against them. They call the arrests, as well as the entire criminal case against them, pressure on them for their active civil position.

"Rustem Murasov called his detention in the pre-trial detention center not a fear that he would run away, but direct pressure on him for refusing to slander himself, slandering other political prisoners in criminal cases related to terrorist articles. neither he nor anyone else is to blame in this criminal case, they certainly did not commit any crimes", - lawyer Emil Kurbedinov said, according to his client.

The occupation court did not satisfy the appeals, leaving Abdullayev and Murasov in custody until February 10, 2020.

"The investigation in their case has already been completed and transferred to the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don, where the first preliminary hearing is expected. After that, the defendants will be transferred from the Crimea to one of the pre-trial detention centers in Rostov-on-Don", - Kurbedinov added.
