The Southern District Military Court debated the prosecution, demanding 12 years in prison for a disabled pensioner Zekirya Muratov, who is accused of participating in the activities of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir.

This was reported by "Crimean Solidarity".

At the stage of the debate, the state prosecutor Serhiy Aidinov asked the court to find Zekirya Muratov guilty under Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("participation in a terrorist organization)" and sentence him to 12 years in prison with further restriction of freedom of movement for 1 year and 6 months . According to the prosecutor, Muratov should spend the first 3 years in prison and the rest in a maximum security colony.

In addition, the public prosecutor demands restrictions for the Crimean Tatar even after his release: Do not leave the territory of the relevant municipality, do not change the place of residence or stay and place of work. There is a mark 2 times a month in the FSVP.

The defense insists on Muratov's innocence and the fabrication of a criminal case against him. To prove this, lawyers cite contradictory testimony of a secret witness, FSS operatives and incompetence of the investigative examination.

The defense also believes that the prosecutor referred to inadmissible evidence.

"The prosecutor referred to the testimony of the operative, which was based on operational data and in no way procedurally fixed. He also referred to some mediocre characteristics, to the fact that the neighbors heard how Muratov was visited by people of Muslim appearance with beards and they loudly discussed in Zekirya Muratov's apartment, but this witness did not show what it was about. the language they were discussing, maybe they were talking about cars, or other details. This was not established in court. He testified that Muratov took part in religious talks and discussed the affairs of the religious community in the city of Alushta, so he is trying to avoid punishment. We believe that for an elderly person who turns 65 this year, even this term is lifelong. For discussions, conversations and for participation in the public life of the city through participation in the life of the community - such a term? The defense does not agree with the crime against him, he will prepare his speech in the debate", - lawyer Lilya Gemedzhi said.

According to the indictment of the prosecutor, Muratov "deliberately joined the organization", "adhered to the measures of conspiracy", "formed a pretentious attitude towards Muslims in Russia". One of the important pillars of the accusation is the testimony of a classified witness.
