The head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, said that approximately 100,000 Russian soldiers were near Ukraine's borders and that this was an unprecedented threat to Ukraine.

He stated this during a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

He stressed that if Russia goes on further aggression against Ukraine, it will have serious consequences. Both from the United States and Europe. And Moscow was warned about it.

"Ukrainians came to the Maidan to defend their choice in 2013, and unfortunately, since then you have been under constant aggression from Moscow. Russia has invaded Crimea, also created a conflict in eastern Ukraine and is trying to undermine democracy today", - Anthony Blinken said.

The head of the State Department noted that currently there are approximately 100,000 Russian soldiers near the borders of Ukraine.

"Today we have approximately 100,000 Russian soldiers near Ukraine's borders. And there is an unprecedented threat to Ukraine in this regard. The President asked me to emphasize our commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence. We told Russia clearly that if they choose aggression against Ukraine, "then the aggression will have serious consequences, not only on the part of the United States, but also on Europe and the rest of the world. Russia's goal is to settle the divide between our countries, we cannot allow them to do that", - Blinken said.

"Your visit is very important to us, your visit personally. It underscores once again the strong support of our independence, the country's sovereignty by the United States", - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
