The Crimean Reintegration Association sent a message to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Everyone to the Highest Level of Physical and Mental Health, Ms. Tlaleng Mofokeng, as part of her current study, Violence and its Impact on the Right to Health.

This is written on the ARC website.

It is noted that the document was based on the ARC's expert research on the human rights of Crimeans and the rights of ethnic groups, including their rights to development, food, water, health, which have relevant cultural, economic, social and financial implications.

The report of the Association at the UN was devoted to the situation of gender-based violence caused by the conflict, including violence against members of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. The ARC reflected aspects of such occupation-led gender-based violence, given the significant negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic as part of the total degradation of the health care system in the occupied Crimea.

In its statement, the Association proved to the UN Rapporteur that the issues related to the conflict of gender-based violence in Crimea are due to the situation of complete impunity on the part of the Russian-controlled administration.
