In December 2021, the Yalta occupation administration issued an "order" declaring the building №18 (letter A) on Lenina Street in Alupka to be emergency and to be demolished.

The document was signed by the so-called "first deputy" "mayor" Eugene Bavikin, according to the ARC.

It is noted that one of the architectural monuments is located at this address - Zimmerman's dacha, built at the beginning of the last century.

"This is not the first time that Yalta is trying to use historical monuments improperly, they are actually destroyed in order to build another modern commercial facility that has no cultural mission", - historian Andrew Ivanets says.

According to him, this is one of the few such monuments of Old Yalta, "which should be treated with respect, preserving them for future generations".
