The new small rocket ship "Cyclone" of the project "Karakurt", built for the occupying Black Sea Fleet at the Butoma shipyard in occupied Kerch, completes factory testing.

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation reports.

"During the factory testing, the Cyclone's regular crew together with the factory delivery team tested the ship's life-support, energy and survivability systems, autonomous operation of communications, ventilation and air conditioning, speed, manoeuvrability and stability of the ship", - the message read.

What is known

  • The 22nd Army Corps of the Southern Military District, stationed in occupied Crimea, will be replenished with a missile division. Also, in 2022, the air defence forces will receive about 3,000 units of equipment and weapons.
  • According to the plan of activities of the Southern Military District in 2022, the occupiers plan to complete the formation of two motorized infantry divisions.
  • In 2020, the 19th Motorized Rifle Division was re-formed as part of the 58th All-Military Army, and in 2021 the first stage of the formation of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division was completed as part of the 8th All-Military Army.
  • More than 10,000 Russian troops have started their first exercises in the new year at training grounds in occupied Crimea and some regions of Russia.
  • On January 9, the occupiers conducted training with the regular forces of naval aviation and air defence of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
  • On January 8, the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation conducted training with rescue forces in stormy weather at its bases in Novorossiysk and occupied Crimea.
  • The United States expects explanations from Russia regarding the new military drills near the borders of Ukraine.
