The Russian Federation carried out the hacker attack on the official websites of Ukraine - government experts
The results of a study by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security show that the Russian Federation attacked government websites.
The press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reports.
"On the night of January 13-14, several government websites were hacked - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy's website was not damaged. The content of the resources has not been changed. There was no leakage of data, including personal data. The Diia application works stably. All registers are securely protected. Some government websites have been suspended as a precaution", - the statement said.
According to a study by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, the first data suggest Russia carried out the attack.
This is not the first time that Ukrainian Internet resources have been attacked since the beginning of Russian military aggression, and some cyber attacks were so massive that they entered the world's textbooks for cyber specialists. The purpose of such attacks is to destabilize the internal situation in the country and to sow chaos and despair in society.
"There has been no mass attack on government agencies for a long time. We assume that the current one is related to Russia's recent defeat in talks on Ukraine's future cooperation with NATO. Moscow has recently resumed military exercises near Ukraine's borders. Hacking actions against Ukrainian government agencies may also be part of this psychological attack on Ukrainians", - the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy said.
