On the night of January 13-14, hackers attacked government websites. At around 8 a.m., the Diia portal was temporarily unavailable.

The hacker attack was reported by the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine.

Such Ukrainian government websites as the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the State Treasury website were temporarily unavailable.

On the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some others, one could see the following message in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish:

"Ukrainian! All your personal data has been uploaded to the public network. All data on the computer has been destroyed. It is impossible to restore it. All information about you has become public, be afraid and expect the worst. This is for your past, present and future. For Volyn, for the OUN UPA, for Galicia, for Polissya and historical lands".

Half an hour later, the message disappeared.

At 10 am, the work of most of the attacked state resources had already resumed, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported.

"Due to the global attack on the night of January 13-14, 2022, the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science is temporarily down... The content of the websites remained unchanged, and there was no leakage of personal data. Other websites will resume work soon", - the statement said.

While the troubleshooting work is underway, the agency asked to use the official web resources of the Ministry of Education and Science on social networks.

On the morning of January 14, the Diia website was also unavailable. Currently, the State Special Communications Service emphasizes that the mobile application Diia works normally.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleh Nikolenko said that specialists are already working to restore the work of IT systems.

At about 8.45 a.m., the website of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was also down. Instead, one could visit the website of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. The websites of the Verkhovna Rada and the President of Ukraine also worked.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported a hacker attack on several government websites and assured that no data leak occurred.

"Provocative messages were posted on the main page of these sites. The content of the sites was not changed, and the leakage of personal data, according to available information, did not occur", - the agency said.

The SBU, cyber police and special services are investigating the incident and gathering digital evidence.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Japan commented on the inscriptions that appeared on government websites. According to them, the message intends to mislead.

"It seems that it is coming from Poland. In fact, there is no doubt that this is another Russia's provocation. If you see similar or other provocative messages on other government resources - keep in mind that Ukraine is at war", - the embassy stated on Facebook.
