In the Kherson region, near the administrative border with occupied Crimea, the air defence units of the "South" group of troops conducted training of combat crews of 9A33 BM3 "Osa-AKM" anti-aircraft missile systems.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported it on Facebook.

Anti-aircraft missile system 9A33 BM3 "Osa-AKM" is designed to cover forces and means in all types of combat operations.

According to an officer of the group of troops "South", among the potential targets are enemy drones, helicopters, planes, and enemy ground equipment.

The "Osa-AKM" SAM has good cross-country ability, can overcome water obstacles, has high fire capabilities and allows one to destroy various targets at a distance of up to 10 kilometres, while a target can be detected at a distance of up to 45 kilometres.

"We are training the personnel of the air defence units because we must be prepared for any possible actions of the enemy on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea", - the officer said.

What is known

  • On December 14, 2021, combat training of anti-tank artillery and engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place in southern Ukraine near the administrative border with occupied Crimea. Several units simultaneously practised training tasks in close cooperation with each other to repel conditional enemy armoured vehicles.
