According to the plan of activities of the Southern Military District in 2022, the occupiers plan to complete the formation of two motorized infantry divisions.

Russian Air Defence Commander General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov announced this, the Russian Defence Ministry informs.

"We will complete the creation of two divisions this year, forming in their composition a motorized rifle regiment and a tank battalion, which will increase the combat capabilities of the district", - Dvornikov said.

In 2022 the 415th training centre for junior specialists will be deployed in full force, which will provide scheduled training of more than 5,000 gunners and mechanic-drivers for the benefit of all-military air defence associations and units of the coastal troops of the occupying Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and the Caspian Flotilla.

What is known

  • In 2020, the 19th Motorized Rifle Division was re-formed as part of the 58th All-Military Army, and in 2021 the first stage of the formation of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division was completed as part of the 8th All-Military Army.
