This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Norway to the UN Mona Juul at a briefing on January 4.

"It is too early to say what we will do if the situation develops as you say. But I can assure you that we are ready for any situation that may arise, and we are closely monitoring what is happening", - a representative of the UN head of state said.

According to her, in 2014 the Security Council was very active. If an armed conflict breaks out this time as well, the UN will be ready for it. However, the Organization hopes that the armed conflict will still be avoided.

In particular, they discussed issues of preventing further escalation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border, joint actions to preserve peace in Europe and reforms in Ukraine.
