The United States announced a meeting between US leader Joe Biden and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the coming days.

It was reported by Reuters, citing a senior White House official.

"Biden will probably talk to the Ukrainian president soon", - the agency said.

The official said the Biden administration maintains close contacts with Ukraine and NATO allies.

This was also confirmed by a representative of the US National Security Council to the "Voice of America".

"We do not have an exact date for the call, but they will talk again soon", - the source said.

What is known

  • The last talks between Zelensky and Biden took place on December 9. The head of the White House told the Ukrainian president about the results of his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
  • The next talks between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled for December 30 at 10:30 pm Kyiv time. They will talk about Russia's military buildup near the Ukrainian borders. According to the US administration, the Kremlin requested the call.
