The former head of the Kerch penal colony was informed about the suspicion of treason.
This was reported in the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
It is noted that in 2014 the Ukrainian officer joined the occupiers. Then he went on to rise, even received the title of "Colonel of the Internal Service of the Russian Federation".
The investigation established that the man provided assistance to representatives of a foreign state in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine. As well as his actions and decisions contributed to the formation of the occupying power of the Russian Federation on the peninsula.
He faces imprisonment for a term of twelve to fifteen years.
What is known
- An occupying judge who persecuted a Ukrainian activist in the occupied Crimea will be tried in absentia in Ukraine for treason.
