The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the US Embassy have signed a joint action plan to strengthen areas of Ukraine's northern and eastern borders with Washington's $ 20 million financial support.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Facebook.

It is noted that the relevant Joint Action Plan was signed on December 10 in Cherkasy region.

"The project will start in January 2022, and the total amount of assistance is considered to be $ 20 million", - was informed in the statement.

According to Sarah Langenkamp, ​​a spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Ukraine, the project aims to provide technical assistance to border guards to improve the efficiency of their activities in guarding Ukraine's northern and eastern borders and to effectively address emerging threats to Ukraine's national security.

In particular, it provides for the possibility of providing the State Border Guard Service with unmanned aerial systems, special vehicles, video surveillance, communications, equipment, etc.
