Russia has conducted tank military exercises with shootings in the Southern Military District, which borders Ukraine's eastern border. In addition, they took place on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea.

This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.

"More than 1,500 tankers of units and military units of the Southern Military District (Southern District) conducted combat shootings during five days of combat training in the field", - was informed in the statement.

It is noted that the combat shootings were carried out by crews of modern T-72B3 and T-90A tanks with the use of regular shells, as well as with a large-caliber anti-aircraft machine gun.

The Russian Defense Ministry reports that the tankers "improved their skills" in defeating targets that mimic a mobile tank, anti-tank grenade launcher and recoilless artillery weapons at distances from 300 to 2000 m.

It is stated that the tank crews conducted training "in the desert and mountainous forests of landfills" located in the Volgograd and Rostov regions, Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Crimea.

"At the tank ranges, mechanics-drivers performed exercises to drive tanks on rough terrain to overcome natural obstacles, including anti-tank trenches and fences," the press service said.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the "plan" of such combat training of combat vehicle crews is allegedly "the study of tactics of battle of tank units in the offensive and defense during the day and night".
