The United States is concerned about the situation in Ukraine. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the United States is "very concerned" about the alleged buildup of Russian forces near the Ukrainian border and will try to provide Ukraine with everything it needs to defend its sovereign territory.

US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin announced this at a conference at the Ronald Reagan Foundation on December 5, The New York Times reports.

According to the Pentagon chief, the United States has already supplied Ukraine with lethal weapons and is looking for ways to provide additional assistance.

“We are going to continue cooperating with our allies and partners in the region. And we will continue to do everything we can to help Ukraine protect its sovereign territory", - Austin said.
