Russian military aircraft and navy conducted another joint exercise off the coast of occupied Crimea

Ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, together with aviation and air defence of the Russian Southern Military District worked out "defence of objects of the coastal infrastructure of Crimea". About 8,000 servicemen were involved in the military exercises.

The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported it.

"During the military exercises, the ship crews interact with the aviation in the system of reconnaissance and strike complexes in the defence of important objects of the coastal infrastructure of Crimea, as well as counteract the ship groups of the imaginary enemy in the sea zone", - the message reads.

Joint training is carried out according to the general plan and within the framework of control check of armies for the 2021 academic year.

According to the ministry, in addition to about eight thousand soldiers, the exercises involved about 350 units of armaments and military equipment from the general army, air force and air defence units, formations and units of troops, as well as special troops of the district subordination, the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian flotilla.

  • Crews of about 20 Mi-8AMTSh helicopters of the Russian military aviation as part of a large-scale command and staff exercise landed motorized infantry units of the Coast Guard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet at the Opuk training ground in Crimea.
  • According to data released during the 6th Review Conference on the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, Russia has deployed 39 potential nuclear weapons in occupied Crimea, and, likely, new means of delivering nuclear munitions will soon appear on the peninsula.
  • ​​On October 12, the crews of Mi-35 attack helicopters from the Army Aviation of the Southern Military District, stationed in occupied Crimea, destroyed ground targets of a hypothetical enemy.
  • On October 7, during a check-up of troops, following the results of the summer training period, the Black Sea Fleet marines conducted a landing exercise and the creation of a bridgehead for the main landing forces on the unequipped coast of occupied Crimea. The training was carried out at the Opuk interspecific training ground.
