The US State Department condemned Russia's decision to conduct a census on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

This is stated in a statement by State Department spokesman Ned Price on Twitter.

"The United States condemns the Russian census in occupied Crimea as another attempt to undermine Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity", - he wrote.

What is known

  • Earlier it was reported that the occupation authorities of Sevastopol plan to conduct a "population census" in the city. In Russia, the "All-Russian census" is conducted every ten years, after several transfers, this event is planned to be held from October 15 to November 14.
