Two court hearings of Crimean Tatars will take place today in the occupation Kyiv district court of Simferopol, as well as in the court of Rostov-on-Don.

The ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova reported about it.

"Today in the Russian-controlled" Kyiv District Court of Simferopol "in the temporarily occupied Crimea will be held hearings against Arsen Akhtemov and Riga Reshetov, who are charged with an administrative offense under Article 20.6.1 of the Administrative Code" failure to comply with the rules of conduct in case of emergency or", - was informed in the message.

She also noted that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don will hold hearings in the so-called "Hizb ut-Tahrir case" against members of the "third Bakhchisaray group", which includes Seitumer Seitumerov, Osman Seitumerov, Amet Suleymanov and Rust Seitmemetov. During the meeting, the case is expected to be considered on the merits.

"I call on the international community to respond to the next illegal trials, not to reduce the pressure on the Russian Federation to protect the rights of citizens who remain living in the temporarily occupied Crimea, and to release all Ukrainian citizens illegally detained by the aggressor country", - Denisova said.

What is known

  • On September 3 and 4, five Crimean Tatars were detained in Simferopol and Yevpatoria: businessman Eldar Adamanov, brothers Aziz and Asan Akhtemov, Shevket Useinov, and Nariman Dzhelyalov, deputy chairman of the Crimean Tatar People's Majlis, on suspicion of blowing up a gas pipeline in the village.
