28 states are to take part in the first summit of the Crimean platform, which will take place in Kyiv on August 23.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba during an online briefing.

According to the diplomat, such a number of states have never gathered in Ukraine for such an event. The country is waiting for the participation of key international partners.

"As of now, 28 states and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the Crimean Platform summit. It will be an unprecedented international event in the history of Ukraine. Never before have so many states gathered in Ukraine to hold such an event at the presidential level. -ministers, chairmen of parliaments, members of governments”, - Kuleba said.

The Minister stressed that the summit would not be a one-time event. Work is currently underway on a long-term concept of action in the priority areas: non-recognition policy, sanctions, security in the Azov-Black Sea region, protection of human rights and international humanitarian law, environmental and economic consequences of the occupation.

"Crimea has already become a suitcase for Russia without a handle. The Crimean platform will turn it into an unbearable burden”, - the Foreign Minister stressed.

In addition, according to him, the Crimean Declaration, the final document of the summit, which will consolidate the fundamental provisions for Ukraine, has almost been agreed upon.

Kuleba stressed that Russia's opposition to the Crimean platform is systematic and powerful.

“They work in every capital, in every country, convincing, refusing the state to participate in the Crimean platform. But we are doing our job, we have our strength”, - the head of Ukrainian diplomacy stressed.
