Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Volodymyr Yelchenko advised Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to accept the fact that he has not decided anything in his country for a long time, in response to his words about Crimea.

Volodymyr Yelchenko wrote such a comment on Twitter in response to Medvedev's statement that "Ukraine should accept the annexation of Crimea".

"Ukraine advises Medvedev to accept the fact that he has not decided anything for a long time", - the Ukrainian diplomat commented.

What is known

  • On January 15, the Russian government led by Medvedev resigned. He said he made the decision because of the president's proposed amendments to the Constitution.
  • After that, the former prime minister of the Russian Federation was appointed deputy chairman of the Security Council.
  • On December 9, 2015, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko dismissed Yelchenko Volodymyr Yuriyovych from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Russian Federation and appointed him Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the UN.
  • On December 18, 2019, Yelchenko became the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States.
