The National Council allowed 16 channels to continue broadcasting on the administrative border with the occupied Crimea
The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has extended the permits for temporary broadcasting in the territories with a special broadcasting regime to 16 TV and radio companies for a year. The following permits were received by: Public Broadcaster, Dom, 1 + 1, Ukraine, ICTV, STB, Rocks Radio, Hit FM, etc.
The regulator made the corresponding decision at its meeting on June 17, the website says.
Permits are granted without competition and without paying an additional fee.

What is known
- The National Council began issuing relevant permits in 2014 due to the need of the population of the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine to have access to Ukrainian TV and radio programs after several towers in the uncontrolled territories of the country were seized by the occupiers.
- On May 19, the Ministry of Reintegration signed an agreement with the Crimean Tatar children's channel LALE to create and distribute an information product in Crimean Tatar and, if necessary, in other languages for children. The value of the agreement with LALE as a result of the tender amounted to UAH 3 million.
