Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approves bill on agreement with Turkey on the construction of housing for Crimean Tatars

On June 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a bill on ratification of an agreement with Turkey on the construction of housing for Crimean Tatars, internally displaced persons, participants in the joint forces operation.

This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet.

It is noted that the document provides for the transfer of 450 apartments to representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, the remaining 50 will go to internally displaced persons and members of the ATO / OSS. The document signed by the Cabinet of Ministers was sent for ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

What is known

  • On April 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The parties, in particular, discussed the aggravation of the situation in Donbas and in occupied Crimea.
  • Ukraine and Turkey have signed a framework agreement on housing construction for Crimean Tatars, which will allow the construction of about 500 residential apartments, including for internally displaced persons.
