President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that an office of the Crimean Platform would be established in Ukraine. The President also wants to sign several laws before the Crimean Platform summit.

He stated it at a press conference on May 20 at the Antonov aircraft plant in Kyiv.

According to Zelensky, Russia finds it very difficult to accept the Crimean Platform.

"First, this is a serious step for all countries that will come to us because of the complications, due to the creation of the Crimean Platform, the complexity of relations with Russia.

Russia is really having a hard time reacting and accepting the Crimean Platform.

But it is very important for us that at the end of the seven years of war and the illegal annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula, something finally appears. I am glad that today this is really the first serious platform for the de-occupation of Crimea", - the President said.

"The steps of de-occupation will be considered there, we will finally open an office of the permanent Crimean platform - these will be professionals who will deal with the issues of occupied Crimea and the issues of people who should receive humanitarian aid every day - from lawyers to economists and humanitarian specialists, and those who are in prisons of Crimea and the Russian Federation", - he said.

Also, Zelensky wants to sign several laws before the Crimean Platform.

"I want to sign important laws - and I believe that by then they will be voted in the Verkhovna Rada - for Crimea, the Crimean Tatars, for many Crimeans", - he said.

The summit will also address the security situation in the Black and Azov regions.
