Russian Security Council Secretary Mykola Patrushev held a meeting in occupied Sevastopol to ensure national security in Crimea. He stated that Ukraine, the EU and NATO allegedly threatened terrorist attacks.

According to him, "the preconditions for the emergence of threats to national security remain on the semi-island".

He stated that among the main reasons for these threats - "the destructive activities of the United States, controlled by the NATO bloc, a number of EU countries, Ukraine, aimed at discrediting the domestic and foreign policies of the Russian Federation, damaging its authority and international image, spreading extremist and nationalist ideology".

Political scientist Oleksandr Khara told the Public Crimea that it is normal practice for Russia to intimidate people.

"The Russian Federation is trying, on the one hand, to investigate the situation in Ukraine, on the other hand, it is trying to quarrel with other states and partner states that support us. And, of course, to show that there is terrorism and it is connected with Ukraine, and especially the Islamic factor. Of course, it is an informational influence. Again, it is aimed at Russian citizens in mainland Russia and Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea. That is, intimidation is a normal, so to speak, practice", - the political scientist said.
