G7 foreign ministers and EU foreign minister Joseph Borrell have approached Russia over the accumulation of Russian troops on Ukraine's border, in Donbas and in the occupied Crimea.

Representatives of the G7 and the European Union called on Russia to stop provocations and adhere to its international obligations.

"We call on Russia to end the provocations and to immediately de-escalate tensions in accordance with its international obligations. In particular, we call on Russia to adhere to the OSCE principles and commitments it has signed on the transparency of military movements and to comply with Chapter III of the Vienna Document", - it is told in the message.

Representatives of the G7 and the EU also reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.

"Recalling our latest statement of 18 March, we reaffirm our unwavering support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders", - was informed in the statement.

Volodymyr Tsybulko, an international expert, explained to the Public that the G7 collective statement gives prospects to the most pro-Ukrainian countries to take the next steps to "strengthen the country's defence capabilities and strengthen statehood".
