Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of autonomy, an indictment was sent to the court against a citizen of Ukraine, a member of the illegal organization Avtokanal Sevastopol under Part 2 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).

The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol reported it.

According to the pre-trial investigation, since February 2014, the Ukrainian has been an active participant of the illegal organization Avtokanal Sevastopol, which contributed to the occupation of Crimea.

In particular, the members of the organization used their communication channels to coordinate the work of the Sevastopol illegal armed groups to patrol Sevastopol, identify and detain pro-Ukrainian citizens, and monitor the Ukrainian Navy headquarters and other Ukrainian military units in Sevastopol.

The accused directly coordinated the activities of people who served at illegally established checkpoints near Sevastopol to check documents, search vehicles, and detain Ukrainians.

Together with other members of Avtokanal, he observed and patrolled the polling stations where the illegal voting took place during the pseudo-referendum on the peninsula.

Besides, the accused was awarded medals for "significant contributions" to the organization and promotion of illegal checkpoints, collection of medicines, and food. He was awarded: For the return of Crimea, the anniversary badge of the FSB of Russia Veterans of Russia's special services to the defenders of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as the medal To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the Russian Spring 02/23/14 - 02/23/19.

The accused is currently being held in custody.

He faces five to ten years in prison.
