Government approves the procedure for using funds to upgrade the checkpoints

On February 24, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for using the funds to arrange proper conditions for entry/exit to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

On February 24, the government adopted a relevant resolution at a meeting, Ukrinform reported.

"The purpose of the project is to approve the Procedure for the use of funds provided in the state budget for measures to ensure appropriate conditions of entry and exit of persons to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, protection of rights and freedoms of citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, compliance with international humanitarian law, the restoration/development of peace and the implementation of a common approach to the proper crossing of the line of demarcation", - the explanatory note reads.

The Ministry of Reintegration noted that today there is a need to upgrade the regime and service zone of the checkpoints. It is about the creation of mobile complexes of prefabricated units for the provision of various services to the population, and the creation of appropriate sanitary and hygienic conditions, an arrangement of medical care units, waiting for places, access to drinking water.

According to the document, the upgrade of the checkpoints is planned to be carried out within the relevant budget program.
