On the Day of resistance to the occupation of Crimea, activists in Kyiv held a Sprouts of Resistance performance, with flowers in flower pots near the Russian Embassy, to show the steadfastness of Crimean people against Russian aggression on the occupied peninsula.

A correspondent of Suspilne Crimea reported about it.

The coordinator of the public organization Crimea SOS, which organized the performance, Denis Savchenko explained what flowers mean.

"These flowers, vases, symbolize these sprouts, these flowers of resistance, which have not withered for 7 years and which the occupiers have not been able to destroy and suppress for 7 years", - he said.

According to Savchenko, the non-governmental organization Crimea SOS holds monthly rallies near the Russian embassy to remind Russia, as the occupying power, of its international obligations regarding the inadmissibility of enforced disappearances, the obligation to search for victims of enforced disappearances, to adequately investigate all these crimes and to bring those responsible to justice.

Former political prisoner Ismail Ramazanov also attended the event.

He said that he understands how the relatives of the missing feel.

"I know too well how relatives feel when they don't know where you are for a day, even for an hour. I appeal to parents - do not lose heart, hold on, victory will definitely be ours, the de-occupation of Crimea will happen, and your children - the best sons of our peoples will return home", - he stressed.

On February 24, the Security Service of Ukraine hung out a new banner Crimea is Ukraine in front of the Russian Embassy in Kyiv.

"Just a photo, just the Russian Embassy in Kyiv, just a statement of the fact: Crimea is Ukraine", - the message says.
