Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an activist of the so-called Crimean Spring who contributed to the occupation of Crimea.

The press service of the SBU reported this.

SBU operatives detained the Crimean man and identified him at a checkpoint.

According to the SBU, in the spring of 2014, the suspect joined the public organization “Avtokanal Sevastopol”, which contributed to the occupation of the peninsula.

Also, as part of the so-called Crimean “self-defence”, the man observed polling stations during the illegal elections of the occupying “parliament” of Crimea and incited residents to take part in the “voting”.

Besides, the SBU has evidence that occupiers awarded the suspect the medal “In commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the beginning of the Russian spring 02/23/2014-23/02/2019”.

The suspect is currently detained in custody. The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
