The Servant of the People will investigate the reasons for the occupation of Crimea

People’s Deputy and member of the Servant of the People faction Yelyzaveta Bogutska wants to set up a temporary commission of inquiry (TSC) to investigate the reasons for the occupation of Crimea.
She wrote about this on her Facebook page.
“Today I submit to the Verkhovna Rada the resolution on the registration of the TSC to investigate why the occupation of Crimea became possible", - she wrote.
What is known
- According to Article 89 of the Constitution of Ukraine, temporary investigative commissions of the Verkhovna Rada are created from the number of people’s deputies to investigate issues and incidents of public interest. At least a third of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada (150 out of 450 people’s deputies) is required to decide on its creation.
- The DBR (State Bureau of Investigations) has established the reasons and conditions for the occupation of Crimea.
- Ukrainian counterintelligence reported on Russia’s attempts to increase its influence long before 2014, during the presidencies of Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovych.
- The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine has published the first information bulletin “White Book 2021”. The White Book presents the Service’s assessment of the main external threats to Ukraine’s national security, which pays special attention to aggression from Russia.
