Between January 22 and 24, the judge of the occupying Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol, Andrei Grachev, passed 12 rulings on sentencing for participating in the rally in support of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. 12 people were convicted under Art. 20.2 Administrative Code (participation in an unauthorized mass event).

The Crimean human rights group reported about it on January 25.

Sevastopol residents who went to the rally and those who invited them to take part in the peaceful assembly on social networks were persecuted.

"The use of the permit procedure, rather than notification for peaceful assembly, is a violation of the freedom of peaceful assembly, and the arrest of peaceful assembly participants also violates the right to liberty and security of person", - human rights activists said.

Thus, on January 22, Ilya Zaika was arrested for 5 days for publishing the time and place of the action.

Also on January 23, 3 resolutions were adopted under Art.  20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, on sentencing for participation in the action against Vladimir Grechishkin (20 hours of forced labour), Dmitry Brazhnikov, Artem Lukashov (up to 5 days of arrest).

On January 24, 8 resolutions were passed on: Vyacheslav Neevin (one day of administrative detention), Oleksandr Krytsky (up to 3 days of administrative detention), Sergey Lukashov (up to 5 days of administrative detention), Oleksandra Baklytska (up to 3 days of administrative detention), Anastasia Glushenko (up to 5 days of administrative detention), Maksym Bychkov, Andriy Kravtsov (7 days of administrative detention) and Maksym Rozum.
