The United Kingdom is outraged by the illegal sentences of three participants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case
Ms.Melinda Simmons, the British Ambassador to Ukraine, is appalled by the Russian court's decision to sentence Enver Omerov, Riza Omerov, and Ayder Dzhapparov to 13-18 years in a maximum-security prison. On behalf of the United Kingdom, Simmons called on Russia to release all Ukrainian political prisoners immediately.
She announced this on Twitter.
"Appalled at the sentencing of Enver Omerov, Riza Omerov, and Ayder Japparov, Russia's continued persecution of Crimean Tatars and those who oppose its illegal annexation of Crimea is unacceptable. The United Kingdom calls on the Russian Federation to release all Ukrainian political prisoners immediately", - she said.
